🧊 Samsung refrigerator displays 5C error (water dispenser)

Step-by-step troubleshooting guide — 5 steps, Fridge.

🔧 Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the water supply line is connected and the shut-off valve is fully open
✓ Expected: Water flows when valve opened
  2. Check the water inlet valve at the back of the refrigerator. Listen for the solenoid clicking when you press the dispense button
✓ Expected: Solenoid clicks, water flows
  3. If no water flows, check the inlet valve for 120V when the dispense button is pressed. No voltage = control board issue
✓ Expected: 120V at valve during dispense
  4. Check the water line for ice blockage. In cold garages, the line can freeze. If the line is frozen, thaw it with a hair dryer
✓ Expected: Line clear, no ice
  5. If all above check out, the water dispenser's internal solenoid valve may be failing. Replace the dispenser assembly
✓ Expected: New dispenser, 5C cleared
