🔧 Troubleshooting Steps

1. Clean the drain pump filter — remove the small round cap at the bottom front (right side), drain water, remove lint and debris
   ✓ Expected: Filter clean, water flows
2. Check the drain hose routing — LG requires the hose to be no higher than 96 inches and no lower than 24 inches from the floor
   ✓ Expected: Hose within height spec
3. If the filter is clean and OE persists, the drain pump motor may be seized. Remove the pump and check the impeller by hand
   ✓ Expected: Impeller spins freely
4. If the impeller is free but OE persists, check the pressure switch (water level sensor) on the top of the tub. A stuck diaphragm causes false 'water present' readings
   ✓ Expected: Diaphragm moves freely in the switch housing
5. LG front-load washers (WM series) with direct-drive motors: if OE appears during spin, check the motor coupling between the direct-drive motor and the transmission. A worn coupling prevents full-speed rotation
   ✓ Expected: Coupling intact, not cracked or separated
