🔧 Troubleshooting Steps

1. Clean the drain pump filter (bottom front of washer). Remove the cap, drain water, clear debris
   ✓ Expected: Filter clean
2. Check the drain hose — no higher than 96 inches, no kinks
   ✓ Expected: Hose properly routed
3. If OE persists, check the drain pump impeller. LG drain pumps have a known issue where the impeller breaks
   ✓ Expected: Impeller intact
4. Check the pressure switch (water level sensor) on the top of the tub. A stuck diaphragm causes false 'water present' readings
   ✓ Expected: Diaphragm free
5. For LG Direct Drive washers: if OE appears during rinse/spin, check the motor coupling between the direct-drive motor and the transmission. A worn coupling prevents full-speed rotation
   ✓ Expected: Coupling intact
