🔧 Troubleshooting Steps

1. Open the lid and redistribute the load. Pull bunched items apart
   ✓ Expected: Even distribution
2. Check the washer is level. Hotpoint top-loaders are sensitive to level — adjust the leveling feet until the washer sits flat
   ✓ Expected: Level on all four feet
3. Check the shock absorbers (dampers) on the tub. If they're worn or broken, the tub moves excessively during spin
   ✓ Expected: Dampers intact, not corroded or broken
4. If dU persists after redistribution and leveling, check the motor speed sensor (hall effect sensor) on the motor. A failing sensor causes the control board to not detect full spin speed
   ✓ Expected: Sensor intact, wires not broken
